Posted: Monday, Jul 8th, 2013

FRANKLIN GROVE — Midwest folk singer Mark Dvorak will present a very special concert entitled “The American Folk Song” on Saturday July 13, at 6 p.m. at the Grist Mill in Franklin Grove. It will follow a dinner sponsored by and benefiting the Franklin Creek Preservation Area Committee.

Over the last two decades, Dvorak has forged a reputation as a dedicated troubadour and true disciple of American Folk Music, traveling to 36 states and to Europe with only his songs, stories, guitar and five string banjo. Based in the Chicago area, Dvorak has created a nationwide reputation for singing the folk songs of the American people. Audiences delight in his nimble guitar and banjo playing, his broad repertoire, his obvious affection for this music and the charisma radiating from his delightful and warm personality.
