OREGON — The annual Pegasus Special Riders picnic was held this past Saturday and included a special event — not only for the non-profit facility — but one local Rochelle family.

On Saturday, the Jeff Kissack Sensory Riding Trail was officially opened when Kissack’s family members, son Kyle, daughter Kelly, wife Wendy, and granddaughter Bryn cut the ceremonial ribbon in front of other family members, friends and those gathered for the special day.

“Overall, the day was wonderful,” Kyle said. “There was a good turnout for the annual picnic. Families enjoyed the time together. Wayne Copeland and the board of directors, through a memorial in my dad’s name [Jeff Kissack] from family, friends and community members, took the initiative and found a significant opportunity to create the trail.”
