ROCKFORD — Wanda F. Parsley, 83, was welcomed into heaven on Friday, May 17, 2013. She was born Dec. 31, 1929, to Russell and Helen Landau.
She worked for Swift for more than 25 years as a packer. Wanda had a good sense of humor, and could be a bit fiesty. She loved the outdoors and taking care of her flowers.
She is survived by daughters, Debbie (Tom) Detzner, Berla R. Buhk; grandchildren, Crystal, Roy (Francine), Missy and Jason (Kelly); five great-grandchildren; sister, Berla Finkboner.
She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Lavon Landau.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 24, at Alpine Lutheran Church 5001 Forest View Ave. Rockford. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church or Northern Illinois Hospice and Grief Center.
