ELBURN — On Friday, the 13U Rochelle Rampage kept its record in the Kane County Baseball League a perfect 4-0 after narrowly defeating the Elburn Express 8-7.
It was a 4-4 ballgame after the first inning of play, but Elburn took a one-run lead after the second inning to go up on Rochelle.
Neither team could get it going in the third inning, but the Rampage tied it up in the bottom of the fourth to make it 5-5.
Both teams were again scoreless in the fifth inning, but two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning gave Rochelle its first lead of the game at 7-5.
The Express tied it up in the top of the seventh inning, but Rochelle pushed a run across in the bottom of the seventh inning and won the game 8-7.
Jarod Scarbrough and Ehren Metzger both had two each to lead the way, while eight Rampage total recorded hits in the victory.
