ROCHELLE—For the 62nd consecutive year, “Pray for America” took place across the country, and at Rochelle’s city hall for the eighth year.

A mixture of representatives from Hand in Hand, the City of Rochelle, local churches and residents visited city hall on the rainy Thursday afternoon to give thanks to the Lord for the fortunes Rochelle has received and also to pray for the future well-being of the town and its residents.

Rochelle economic development director Jason Anderson initiated the event with an opening prayer, to which the nearly full room of guests bowed their heads and obliged. The rest of the afternoon commenced with patriotic songs, as well as separate prayers for American media, education, church and family.

VFW Floyd J. Tilton 3878 veterans also attended the event in uniform and were thanked by the crowd through applause.
