ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Area Chamber of Commerce & Business Development and the City of Rochelle participated in the official opening of the new SwedishAmerican Medical Group primary care clinic in Rochelle Friday morning.

The facility is located at 380 IL Route 38 East and is an anchor for the Caron Ridge Shopping Center expansion project. The event was attended by elected officials, city staff, administration and employees of SwedishAmerican, and members of the Rochelle Chamber.

SAMG broke ground on July 16, 2012 at the site east of Sullivans Foods. The developer for the project was Walter Wayne Development, a local firm with ties to Rochelle.

“The capital investment of the project reached $4 million. During construction and buildout, some 200 building trade jobs were created which had a significant impact on the Rochelle economy,” president Dave Diamond said. “At least 15 different contractors were onsite at times during the project.”
