Firemen win in first Major League game

ROCHELLE — The Firemen downed the Lions in the Rochelle Little League season opener Monday night by a score of 6-4 in a shortened game due to darkness.

The Firemen were led by Cody Johnson at the plate with two singles, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Greg Rickets had a single and one run while Mason Delille had a single, an RBI and one run. Isaac Green doubled, recorded one RBI and scored one run, Michael Schlenbecker had a single and an RBI and Wade Samp had a single and one run. 

Samp also started the game on the mound and went three innings with four strikeouts for the win. Delille pitched one inning with one strike out for the save.

The Lions were led by Isaac Musselmen, who had two singles, one RBI and 1 run while Noah Knight had a single. Garrett Hackbarth had single and a run and Nick Albers added a single.
