Dobbs excels in academics, receives IHSA honors

ROCHELLE—It is hard to know where to begin when it comes to Michelle Dobbs and her success as a student-athlete, but let’s begin with her accomplishments in the classroom.


Dobbs is number one in her RTHS Class of 2013

Scored a 35 (of 36) on her ACT (college test)

Carries a 4.65 grade point average (on our 4.0 scale)

National Honor Society treasurer, member of two years

Wendy’s High School Heisman State Finalist

Won the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award 2012  

Illinois State Scholar and a National Merit Scholar

Inside and outside of the classroom Michelle typifies what an IHSA All-State Academic Team member is,” said principal Travis McGuire. “Michelle has taken every opportunity to challenge herself in every facet of involvement at RTHS. She is enrolled in the Engineering-Math-Science Academy, EMSA, at Kishwaukee College. This gives her a jump start toward her desire to have a career in Mathematics or Physics,” he said.
