HILLCREST—On Saturday, May 4, the Village of Hillcrest will host its annual “Spring Clean-Up Day” for residents to clear away their unwanted items from 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The dumpsters will be located at village hall and residents may recycle items that are typically rejected from garbage collection including various electronics and old tires.

“They’ll take TVs, electronics and computers. Basically anything that sits on curbs that you can’t get rid of, they’ll take,” said village president Kim Whalen.

Kreider Services, of Dixon, will also attend the clean up day to provide boxes for the items. The company has also offered to separate the recyclables and haul them away to Dixon.

A veterinarian will also be also be available for pet services on this day to provide vaccinations for village cats and dogs from 9 a.m. to noon, or until services are finished.

Residents will also be able to register their pets on this day. Whalen encourages residents to utilize available services on this day, as they will be discounted.
