ROCHELLE — Fairways Golf Course is now open to the public after the City of Rochelle and Flagg-Rochelle Park District purchased the property and leased it to the Greater Rochelle Economic Development Corporation to run.
Fairways opened the course on Saturday, April 6 and will operate daily from 7 a.m. to dusk.
“Fairways is a community project — two government bodies and a nonprofit working as a team with many community businesses to make sure this is successful,” facility manager Lee Prunty said.
Rochelle City Council and Flagg-Rochelle Community Park District Board are leasing the golf course and banquet facility to the Greater Rochelle Economic Development Corporation to run the facility.
