ROCHELLE — On Tuesday, April 9, voters throughout Ogle County will be considering a proposed 1 percent sales tax increase, which is designed to provide new capital revenue for all county school districts.
If approved, the additional sales tax dollars will be distributed amongst all Ogle County school districts based on their respective enrollment, and the money may be used for new facilities, additions, renovations, ongoing maintenance, fire prevention, life safety, energy efficiency, demolition or other capital projects. The revenue may also be used for abatement of property tax levies to pay bonds issued for capital purposes.
