STERLING — As a team the Hubs didn’t place very high on Saturday at the NIB–12 Indoor Conference Track Meet, but they did have some strong individual performances and some quite notable personal bests.

Senior Tony Walsh had a breakout meet, proving he was still a conference contender as he placed fifth in the 60-meter dash (0:7.39) and seventh in the 200-meter dash (0:24.97) The times earned him the Hubs’ Sprinter of the Meet award.

All-Stater Chris Weber, who has consistently dominated the high jump since the season began a few weeks ago, finished second on Saturday and matched his career best leap of 6’5.”

He was the Hubs’ Field Event Athlete of the Meet.

Surprising many at Westwood Athletic Complex, including his coaches, was freshman Aaron Davis, who stepped up and ran the 3,200-meter run in 11:56.21, which 20 seconds faster than his previous best time. The effort earned him the honor of Distance Athlete of the Meet for the Hubs.
