Done deal

ROCHELLE — In a resounding majority, both the Rochelle City Council and Flagg-Rochelle Community Park District Board approved the purchase of the golf course Wednesday night, as well as lease agreements with the Greater Rochelle Economic Development Corporation to run it.

Once the paperwork is completed and the sale is finalized with current owners Ron and Joan Mershon, GREDCO will work quickly to get the course open for play while also continuing negotiations with area restaurant operators to lease out the banquet and dining facilities.
