ROCHELLE — The Lady Hubs have had three meets this season, but they have hardly even had a chance to get out on the track to practice.

“Looking back in the 37 years of coaching track, this is probably one of the worst starts as far as weather foes for the season,” said Rochelle head coach Bruce Anderson. “We just haven’t had a warm day.”

For a number of schools in the Northern Illinois Big-12 who have an indoor track, bad weather does little to slow them down, but finding a place to train when the winter months seem to drag on becomes a much greater challenge for teams without the luxury of an indoor training facility.

With such a young team, some of the only practice the Lady Hubs had in specialty events like the jumps and hurdles came in their first three track meets, or in an hour-packed practice at Westwood Athletic Complex in Sterling.
