CRESTON — Representatives from Leaf River Telecommunications company made their rounds Tuesday and Wednesday night this week when they visited the villages of Creston and Hillcrest to propose a trade offer for Internet services in exchange for property placement.
The locally owned company, which bought out OgleCom as of Jan. 1, asked both boards if they could mount their equipment on top of the village water towers in order to reach a wider customer base.
“With wireless, height matters. The pieces would be easy to remove and would not cause any permanent damage,” said representative Matt Baer to his Creston audience.
