ROCHELLE – Representatives from the Ogle and Lee County Emergency Management departments will host a multi-jurisdictional full scale disaster exercise on May 8 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at six separate sites between Rochelle and Franklin Grove.
Plans are still being put together by emergency personnel in Ogle and Lee counties dealing with the natural disaster exercise this spring.
Rochelle Police Department detective Terry Inman, one of the organizers of the event, said that approximately 1,500 people will be involved in the exercise. Those people will include emergency and first responders and volunteers.
“Emergency personnel will be faced with several scenarios during the day,” Inman said. “And the exercise will include citizens, government entities at the county, state and federal levels, corporations and non-governmental organizations as well as three area hospitals, and REACT and Lifeline helicopters.”
