GREEN VALLEY, Ariz.—Anne Dorothy Alberts, 71, passed away Feb. 6, 2013 at the Casa De La Luz Hospice in Tucson, Ariz., after a long illness. She was born in Bloomington in 1941 and grew up in El Paso and Aurora.
In 1961 she married James Robert Alberts and the couple resided in Rochelle and farmed. After her husband died in 1987, she moved to DeKalb and worked as an administrative assistant for Northern Illinois University.
In 2002, she retired to Green Valley, Ariz., where she enjoyed swimming, bridge club, mahjong, knitting and travel. She also volunteered at the Green Valley Library and Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Dorothy Stack.
She is survived by sons, Peter James (Diane) Alberts and Barry Lee Alberts; daughter, Susan Anne (Ed) Alberts-Stahl; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Anne Alberts; brothers, David (Lillian) Stack, Mark Stack, and Brian (Carol) Stack; and sister, Mary Stack.
Funeral services will begin at noon on Saturday, March 2nd, at the Elim Reformed Church, 140 south Church Road, in Kings. She will be buried next to her husband at the White Rock Cemetery.
