STERLING — The Lady Hubs led in their game against Sterling Thursday night in the Class 3A Regional Championship for the majority over three quarters, but the last five minutes told another story as Golden Warrior Kiarra Harris took over the game to keep Sterling’s season alive and end Rochelle’s great season.

“I give Sterling a lot of credit for how they played us in the second half,” said Rochelle head coach Kay Dobbs, who was a little dismayed. “We knew it would be a battle, and I never felt like we were completely in control of the game. They are too good of a team not to make a run at us.”

Be that as it may, the Lady Hubs played an impressive first quater, leading 8-5 with seniors Christina Williams and Michelle Dobbs scoring four points each. Williams also forced three turnovers in the first quarter keeping the Golden Warriors from getting into a rhythm early in the game.
