Clearing Skare Park

In an effort to restore the woodland at Skare Park, the Flagg-Rochelle Community Park District hired staff from Pizzo & Associates, LTD. to complete clearing work in January. The clearing included removal of Buckthorn, Honeysuckle and individual specimens of invasive native species to allow for the recovery of the remnant woodland. Trees and brush were cut and herbicide was applied to the stump immediately after cutting. Cut materials were chipped and spread evenly onsite. (Photo by Ray Schwartz)
