HILLCREST — In the late fall, Flagg Township Road Commissioner Scott Seebach approached Hillcrest village trustee Rick Rhoads to alert him on the poor and worsening condition of Hemstock Road, which connects the village to IL Route 64.
Seebach said that the road is pitted and should be sealed soon to prevent wear and tear. The project was estimated to cost the village $16,866.90.
In the Feb. 13 monthly meeting, all present trustees approved of the project in a 6-0 vote. Vicki Stewart was absent.
The project will be paid for through Hillcrest’s motor fuel tax fund.
“It will be cheaper to take care of this now through Scott,” assured Rhoads.
