ROCHELLE — It’s early in the season but already the city has had solicitors going door-to-door without proper city permits. As the weather gets better, more and more solicitors will be coming to Rochelle.
City officials advise residents to not let anyone into your home unless you know them. If registered with the city, the solicitor will have a certificate displaying the city clerk’s signature as well as the city badge.
If a solicitor is selling food, they must have an Ogle County Health Department Permit. If a solicitor visits your home without these items, simply turn them away and call the Rochelle Police Department at 815-562-2131 or the city clerk’s office at 815-561-2002.
