Hub duo battles hard on Friday

ROCHELLE — Joe Goshko (17-16) had already wrestled Brady Weinrich (33-11) from Burlington Central twice this season, but when the two met for a third time Friday afternoon, all hints of familiarity were gone as the two shook hands before a final showdown at the IHSA Class 2A Individual Wrestling Sectional at Rochelle Township High School.

Weinrich gained the upper hand in the first period with a takedown that kept Goshko grounded for two periods. Weinrich jumped out to a 9-0 lead despite several escape and reversal attempts by Goshko.
