HILLCREST—Thursday night, the Hillcrest village board held a special 45-minute public hearing to approve of applications for the tentative sewer grant project.
According to mayor Kim Whalen, one trustee was absent and the remaining five board members approved of the application for the CDBG Grant. If the application is accepted, this grant will supplement up to $400,000 worth of expenses for the village.
“We’re currently working on gathering the documents and mailing them out by next Friday’s deadline. At this point, we’re just waiting. I hope we get this. It’s a first step,” said Whalen.
The waiting period is approximately 60 days.
