ROCHELLE — A high field goal percentage kept the Barbs close, but the Hubs’ 31 points from the free throw line propelled them to an 86-70 win over DeKalb — Rochelle’s third win in a row, its longest streak of the season.
“I am encouraged that we won our third game in a row. We haven’t been able to do that all season,” Rochelle head coach Tim Thompson said after the game Friday night. “But we have to think now about what we can do to tighten things up as we head into the toughest part of our schedule.”
Rochelle started the game with a 5-0 run but the lead changed three times as the Hubs and Barbs battled back and forth to a 16-16 tie at the end of the first quarter.
