ROCHELLE — Rochelle’s Tilton Elementary School has once again received high honors from the State of Illinois Board of Education for the students’ scores on state testing.
Tilton was one of 454 Illinois schools awarded the 2012 academic excellence award for sustained very high academic performance over at least three years.
Tilton was also awarded the Academic Excellence award in 2011 and 2010. The school also received the Academic Improvement Award in 2008.
“The students and staff have worked extremely hard at maximizing their efforts so everyone can reach their full academic potential,” Tilton School Principal Tony Doyle said. “Our parental support is another reason for our academic success. This is our third year in a row for receiving this award. The entire district continues to work hard at meeting the needs of every child.”
