State funds to go to Koritz Field

ROCHELLE — Rochelle’s Municipal Airport is part of a group of airports throughout the state to receive capital funding from the state, as announced by Governor Pat Quinn and Illinois Department of Transportation Secretary Ann L. Schneider.

Rochelle will receive $630,000 to fund a partial parallel taxiway which will greatly improve aircraft safety. This is in addition to the $1.7 million the Rochelle Municipal Airport has been allotted for FY2013 to extend the current runway length to 5,000 feet.

Rochelle Mayor Chet Olson extends his appreciation to airport staff for pursing development opportunities that bring employment opportunities to Rochelle.
