ROCHELLE — When his Hub teammates are tired or feeling down, chances are Tyler Vogeler was there keeping them focused on the task at hand– winning football games.
“Sometime’s it’s a full-time job out there,” Vogeler said about a month after the 2012 football season. “Nobody likes when your opponent makes a big play or scores on you, and I felt like it was my job to keep the guys under control out there when stuff like that happens.”
Vogeler, who has been playing football since he was in seventh grade, started on the varsity team at right guard his freshmen year. He eventually moved to left tight end and linebacker, where the soft-spoken senior did most of his commanding of troops.
“It’s challenging,” he said.
