ROCHELLE — Over the years, students from all around the world have filled the halls at Rochelle Township High School — spending a year experiencing American culture while attending school.

Julie Fowler, area coordinator for Academic Year in America, is looking for local families to open their homes to exchange students who want to spend the 2013-14 school year immersed in American ways. Students can either spend the school year — August through May — or a semester at an American school.

Once the student arrives the host families are not on their own. Fowler stays involved by supervising the student and acting as a mentor for the host family.
