OTTAWA — Down 11-0 early in the first quarter, the Hubs came back in the second half to make it a close game in Ottawa but fell short and lost by two points.
A small but energized crowd cheered for the Pirates as they jumped out to an 11-0 lead on the Hubs in the first quarter, forcing Rochelle to use two time outs in the first four minutes of the game.
“Getting out to an 11-0 start was big for Ottawa,” Thompson said after the game. “They run a good offense, but it was primarily our fault. We came out sluggish. They were getting easy baskets and blowing right by us, and we just didn’t have an answer for it.”
