Three dancers receive All-Conference honors at NIB-12 meet

MORRIS — When it comes to competitive dancing, the Rochelle Township High School Chellettes Dance Squad has quickly become a team that is being noticed.

Coached and choreographed by coach Kass Smith, three Chellettes were awarded all-conference honors on Sunday. Although Rochelle didn’t place, Smith said she was proud of the team’s effort.

All-conference honors were awarded to Michaela Welu, Ally Johnson and Haley Griffith. Welu is a junior and captain of the Chellettes, Johnson is a senior and Griffith is a junior.

“Each girl was chosen because they come to practice with a positive attitude, learn quickly and progress daily,” Smith said.
