ROCHELLE — It took Rochelle a quarter to get going, but once it did, there was no stopping the Lady Hubs from beating Sterling 51-40 in front of a home crowd.
“It’s not that we played bad in the first quarter,” Rochelle head coach Kay Dobbs explained. “We were just in way too big of a hurry.”
Trying to control the pace of the game, Rochelle started the first quarter pushing the ball up the court and trying to score quickly to take an early 12-9 lead.
“We were trying to play up-tempo. We just ended up going a little overboard,” Dobbs said.
Dobbs settled the team down between quarters, slowing Rochelle’s offense down to a reasonable pace and the Lady Hubs started hitting shots.
