WAVERLY — Former Hub football standout Nick Moore plans to put on some weight and gain some speed over the offseason as prepares to transition from his familiar role of quarterback to running back and safety.
Currently a freshman, Moore recently finished his first term at Wartburg College and with it, his first season with the Knights. He dressed on the sidelines for varsity games, but saw more snaps for the junior varsity Knights at quarterback.
Moore, still accustomed to the traditionally effective running game at Rochelle, found it taking him more time to become comfortable with the new offense.
“I didn’t throw the football a lot, and I’m not sure the coaches liked that too much,” said Moore. “I prefer to tuck and scramble.”
