STILLMAN VALLEY — The Rochelle Township High School Lady Hubs picked up a solid 56-36 victory on Saturday over Stillman Valley following a tough conference loss to DeKalb the night before.
Consistency was the name of the game for Rochelle (12-4) as it put up 14 points in all four quarters of play. The Lady Hubs shot 45 percent from the field, while keeping the Lady Cardinals to just 25 percent and out-rebounding Stillman Valley 41-26.
Rochelle head coach Kay Dobbs was pleased despite seeing things she knows her team will have to work on come postseason in February.
“We did shoot well, but we missed a lot of shots early in the game that really kept Stillman in it longer than they should have been,” she said. “I noticed a lack of focus at times, but in the second half, we played much better.”
