DEKALB — Eldonna Jean Knutson, 86, of DeKalb, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Valley West Community Hospital, Sandwich.
She was born June 22, 1926, in Waterman, the daughter of Andrew Bernie and Pearle Emily (Keene) Knutson. She was a caregiver for her mother and later for DCFS, where she was a child care and service provider. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Lee, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, belonged to the Martha-Rebecca Circle and served on various committees for many years.
She is survived by her sister, Phyllis Benson of Sandwich; nieces, Connie (Chuck) Kross of DeKalb, Barb (Kenny) Johnson of Yorkville and Joni (Al) Koehler of Sandwich; great-nieces and -nephews, Christy (Tim) Cordt, Corey (Greg) Zabukover, Greg (Candy) Johnson, T.J. (Andrea) Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Andy (Erika) Koehler, Jake (Meagan) Koehler and Ben Koehler; and seven great-great-nieces and -nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, Jan. 10, at Calvary Lutheran Church, 19 Perry Road, rural Lee, with the Rev. Craig Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, rural Steward. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Thursday until the service at the church.
