ROCHELLE — Following the success of the Flagg-Rochelle Library’s 2012 summer reading program, directors Connie Avery and Sarah Flanagan, decided to host a winter program. In early summer, the library called on young readers to read up to 250,000 pages before summer’s end.
“They [children] read over 300,000 pages,” said Avery. “We were impressed by how much they exceeded the goal, so we decided to try a similar goal in the winter months. We’ve never counted winter pages before.”
