A passion for music and getting people on the dance floor inspired two brothers to move to Portland, Ore. and begin a music career.

Franny and Bobby Govea, both Rochelle Township High School graduates, moved to Oregon to launch their career as an electronic duo.

“We aren’t your typical DJs,” stated Bobby.

“A typical DJ has two turntables, or cds or whatever, and then they mix between the two to perform live,” Franny said. “We write these songs then chop them up into their different parts – drums, bass, synths. Then it’s a matter of “triggering” those sounds in sync with each other. Each song tends to have about 100 clips that need to be triggered. So there’s a lot of room for improv, even between multiple songs.”

Franny graduated from RTHS in 2001 and Bobby in 2004. Their time in high school and even elementary school has inspired and shaped their musical career.
