ROCHELLE — Plans are being finalized and excitement is building for the sixth annual Rochelle Rotary “From the Heart” dinner/auction fundraiser.

The 2013 “From the Heart” event is being held on Saturday, Feb. 2 in the Stillman Room at Hickory Grove Civic Center and invitations for the “gala of giving” will be mailed out soon to local businesses, corporations and individuals.

In the first five years of the dinner/auction, more than $150,000 has been raised for Rotary projects, as well as several other service agencies in and around the “Hub City.”

“This year we are expanding our partner groups from three to four, including the F.O.C.U.S. House, H.O.P.E., the Christian Food Pantry and the Rochelle Child Care Center,” said event chairman Dave Eckhardt. “And, we have upped our fundraising goal from $30,000 to $40,000, all of which will be divided evenly between the four organizations.”
