The names of Dick and Bub Krahenbuhl have been synonymous with the automobile industry in Rochelle for many decades.

The brothers were not only recognized as community leaders in the “Hub City,” but caring personalities who took pride in their namesake business and enjoyed family and friends right up until their recent deaths.

Melding their respective business skills to run the successful Krahenbuhl automobile dealership, the two spent at least six days a week or more together working and playing. The pair’s passing, just three weeks apart, saddened the Rochelle community, but also symbolically signified their unique brotherhood and indelible partnership that endured over the years.

“They got along very well and were both involved in the community,” said Bub’s son Roger, who is a co-owner of the business today. “Our families are deeply saddened by their passing.”
