Winter shows up

ROCHELLE — “Hub City” residents were spared from the several inches of snow that hammered communities to the northwest, but wind and ice signal that winter has arrived.

With the apparent arrival, the City of Rochelle would like to remind residents to use caution while traveling in winter weather.

Snow ordinance

Once three inches of snow have fallen, the winter storm parking ordinance will be in effect in the city. Although the city encourages residents to find off-street parking during the snow storm, street parking is permissible with certain exceptions.

On even dated days, all vehicles are to be parked on the even-numbered sides of the street. On odd dated days, parking is permitted on the odd-numbered sides of the street until snow is cleared.
