ROCHELLE — This past Monday, the Flagg-Rochelle Community Park District board members unanimously approved an ordinance to issue $750,000 in taxable general obligation park bonds to be used for a variety of projects.
District officials began issuing the bonds each year in 2008 to help provide funds for park upgrades and other larger purchases. In the first three years the bond purchase was at least $1 million, but in the past two years the commissioners have scaled down the budget and only issued $750,000 in bonds in order to bring down the tax bill for residents.
