Ready for the snowfall

ROCHELLE The radar is predicting snow today and the Rochelle Street Department is closely following the weather reports.

Don Elliott, Superintendent of Streets, Cemetery, & Airport Divisions, said the city is prepared and ready for the snow to start falling. The city has salt stock piled and leftovers from last year and has plenty of materials on hand.

In order to be prepared for the winter weather, Elliott and his staff watch the weather and monitor it closely. The street department crew is on call and depending on how much snow is predicted and the time frame determines how many crewmembers Elliott calls in.
