Fatal helicopter crash south of Rochelle

LEE COUNTY — At approximately 8:30 p.m., a helicopter crashed in a cornfield about one mile southwest of IL Route 251 and IL Route 30 in Lee County.

The helicopter is believed to be REACT medical helicopter flown out of Rockford Memorial Hospital. It is believed three crew members were on board. Officals are saying there are no survivors. No patients were believed to have been on board.

No further details were available following a press conference near the scene just several minutes ago. No other details were released. Investigators will be on scene tomorrow.
