ROCHELLE — Ray Voss has hung nearly 18,000 Christmas lights outside of his house that move and twinkle along with Christmas songs.

This is the fourth year Voss has created a musical light show outside of his home at 239 Phyllis Ave. He got the inspiration to start the extravagant Christmas display after watching a light show in 2007 that explained the software behind the light displays.

The musical light show takes Voss two weekends to set up, but he starts planning for the following year once the lights come down in January. Voss gets ideas for the light displays from online forums and YouTube videos.
