Heading home, but not before leaving his mark

JAPANESE businessman and site manager of Nippon Sharyo, U.S.A Group, Takao Yamamoto, has traveled near and far from his home in Japan in his 44 years working for the international company.

Yamamoto designed the company’s new Rochelle railcar manufacturing facility and also oversaw its construction, a project that was initiated three years ago when he and Nippon Sharyo representatives chose Rochelle as plant location over any other area throughout the continental United States.

Prior to his Dec. 3 departure from Rochelle, Japanese-speaking Yamamoto shared his “Hub City” experience through Nippon Sharyo’s translator, Kay Tonaki.
