CHAMPAIGN — On Saturday, Nov. 24, fellow NIB-12 Conference school Morris High School returned home from the University of Illinois as the second-best Class 5A football in the state of Illinois.
The number two Redskins (12-2) squared off against three-seeded Lombard Montini at Memorial Stadium for the championship game, but Montini started the game hot scoring 19 and holding Morris scoreless in the first three quarters.
Down 19-0 with 1:15 left in regulation, Redskin quarterback Zach Cinnamon threw a pass to the middle of the field and connected with Jeffy Perry for 33-yards and Morris’s only score of the contest.
