8:30 a.m. — The Turkey Trot 5K walk and run will be held at Rochelle Township High School. Meet in the westside parking lot near the tennis courts. In addition to spreading wellness to those who participate, the “Turkey Trot” will also spread wealth to the local food pantry, as proceeds will be donated. Entry fees are $20 with a long sleeve shirt and $5 without a shirt. The deadline for those that wish to purchase a t-shirt will be Nov. 16. 11 a.m. — Rochelle VFW Post 3878 will host a Thanksgiving dinner including turkey and all the trimmings: mashed potatoes, vegetables, and dessert. To enjoy a thanksgiving dinner courtesy of the VFW any individual can call the post at 815-562-3878 to reserve their meal. The VFW will serve the meal at Post 3878, and offers carryout and delivery. Hub Shuttle drivers are volunteering there wheels and time to deliver the Thanksgiving meals.
