ROCHELLE — Dolly Carole McIlvoy, 70, of Rochelle, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at the Shabbona Health Care Center. She was born on Sept. 12, 1942 in Rochelle, the daughter of Samantha Louise and Rufus Pringle McIlvoy.
Carole was a very special and loving sister, aunt, and friend and was loved by all those who knew her. She showed her love of God by the way she lived. She loved to talk to others about her Jesus, and was a life long member of the Rochelle New Life Foursquare Church. She worked at the Rochelle Health and Rehabilitation Center for 29 years, was a playground attendant at May School for 20 years, and also delivered the Rochelle News-Leader for over 20 years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Rufus Pringle McIlvoy Jr. and George Jerry McIlvoy; one sister, Louise Dobson, and a nephew, Mark McIlvoy.
Survivors include her brother, Robert Eugene (Betsy) McIlvoy of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sister, Janet (Harles) Holt of Sevierville, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Kay McIlvoy of Rochelle; nine nieces and nephews, Kay Rosenbaum, Falisa Dobson, Rob (Kathy) McIlvoy, Jenny (Dave) Limpert, Scott McIlvoy, Denisa Paris, Tina (Mark) Conte, Renee (Kevin) Delesk, and Duane (Julie) Holt; and 22 great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6:45 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16 with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. at the Rochelle New Life Foursquare Church, 109 South Washington St., Rochelle, with Rev.’s Anne and Ken Erickson and Rev. Ken Cook officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 17 at Trinity Memory Gardens for burial. Memorials can be made to the New Life Foursquare Church or to the Vita’s Hospice.
