Wyatt reflects on his service overseas

Anthony Wyatt decided to enlist in the National Guard when he was 21 to help give him a purpose and direction in his life.

Wyatt, a 1999 Rochelle Township High School graduate, gave 10 years to his country and state in the Illinois National Guard, beginning with his basic training in Fort Sill, Okla., as an Army National Guard Private.

“I was basically doing nothing with my life, just kind of existing. I decided that I needed to make a positive change and the Army was a logical choice,” he said.
