LINDENWOOD—This past Tuesday, students at Eswood Elementary School held a mock election to engage the student body in an experience similar to the “official” election that also took place that day.
Students fifth through eighth grade organized and ran the election. Students from second grade through eighth grade participated in the school-wide event. The winner for the Eswood election was Mitt Romney, with 51 votes, in comparison for Obama’s 19 votes.
Although the election results have been known for the past few days, the winning candidate was unknown for the students at the time of the election and students chose a winner based on their beliefs.
