WATERMAN — For the first time in the elementary school’s history, the Steward Eagles won the 27th-Annual Indian Creek Kickoff Eighth Grade Basketball Tournament in Waterman.
The Eagles claimed the championship by defeating Hinckley Big Rock 41-19. The win was extra special because the tourney is for eighth graders, but Steward’s team is made up of three seventh and eighth graders each and one sixth grader.
